Payfin
Terms of Service
These terms apply to the Payfin iOS app. By downloading or using the app you agree to them.
What Payfin is
Payfin is a manual debt-payoff tracker and planner. You enter the debts you owe, log payments against them, and Payfin projects a debt-free date using the avalanche (highest interest first) or snowball (smallest balance first) method. It is a record-keeping and planning tool — it does not pay debts, move money, connect to your financial accounts, or negotiate with lenders.
Not financial advice
Payfin is record-keeping and planning software, not financial, tax, credit, or legal advice. Its projections — including the projected debt-free date, interest figures, and any comparison between strategies — are estimates calculated from the numbers you enter and the assumptions built into the app. They may differ from your actual lender statements. For decisions about your debts, consult a qualified professional.
License
You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use Payfin on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. Don't copy, modify, resell, or reverse-engineer the app.
Subscriptions
Payfin offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions ("Payfin Pro") that unlock features beyond the free tier. Current prices and periods are shown in the app before purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of a free trial if one is offered.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions anytime in your App Store account settings.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms.
Projections and reminders are estimates, not guarantees
Payfin's projections depend entirely on the accuracy of the numbers you enter and may not reflect lender fees, rate changes, or other real-world factors. Reminders are scheduled on a best-effort basis, but notifications can be delayed, silenced, or missed — by the operating system, your settings, or a bug. You remain responsible for managing and paying your debts. Payfin and its developer are not liable for late fees, interest, credit impact, or any other consequence of a missed payment, an inaccurate projection, or a missed or incorrect reminder.
Your data
Your data lives only on your device (see the Privacy Policy). Because there is no account or cloud backup by us, you are responsible for device backups. If you delete the app or lose the device without a backup, the data is gone.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer's total liability for any claim arising out of the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes
The app and these terms may change over time. Material changes to the terms will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
